Unpack the MCM9000 VM RAR file to a local folder on your computer.
On your vSphere Web GUI navigate to your Datastore by pressing “Ctrl + Alt + 4”
On the op top right side press the “upload a file to the Datastore” and upload both files extracted from the RAR file.

Use the New Device option to add the MCM9000 VMDK by clicking on
New device → Select → Existing Hard Drive

Browse to the location where you uploaded the mcm9000.vmdk.

Choose the VMDK file and press OK.

Press Next to finish the mcm9000 VM configuration.

There are TWO methods to obtain a license:
Use License sharing to pull the license from another machine in the same network or from Amazon License cloud.
Get the license from designated USB drive.
Method 1 – License sharing.
Push “Ctrl + Alt + 4” to access the Datastore.
Upload both files: Key_9990.vmdk, Key_9990-flat.vmdk to the same folder the mcm9000.vmdk is located.

Push “Ctrl + Alt + 2” to access the Hosts & Clusters list
Push right click on the mcm9000 machine and choose “Edit settings”.

Use the New Device option to add the MCM9000 VMDK by clicking on New device → Existing Hard Drive

Browse to the location where you uploaded the mcm9000.vmdk.

Choose the Key_9990.VMDK file and press OK.
That should like the following:

Click “OK” to close the setting window.
Power on the Virtual machine.
Setting up the license sharing on the mcm9000:
Open your browser and access the mcm9000 on it’s default IP address: 10.0.0.66
Use the default credentials to log-in
➢ User Name: Admin
➢ Password: Admin

Go to “System → System Information and Check the “License sharing” and push Submit.

Go to “Network →Configuration” and chose NIC which will have access to the rest of the machines.
Double click on the NIC and check the “Stacking Multicast” and push Submit.

Go to “System → System information → System Settings tab
➢ If you share the license between 2 or more Choose a “Stacking Multicast” IP & Port and push Submit.
Make sure all servers that are sharing the license has the same IP & Port configured.
➢ In case you are using Amazon License cloud paste the HASH license into the “Cloud License HASH” field and push Submit.

Method 2 - Using TAG USB Dongle
Connect the USB Dongle you got from TAG to one of the USB connections on your VM Host. Make sure the USB is enabled on bios and is not set to power save mode.
On the VSphere Web Client
Push “Ctrl + Alt + 2” to access the Hosts & Clusters list.
Push right click on the mcm9000 machine and choose “Edit settings”.

Use the New Device option to add the USB Dongle provided by TAG by clicking on New device → Host USB Device.

A USB controller & USB Host device will automatically add to the settings.
Push OK to close the settings window

Upgrade MCM-9000 to newer version
Requirements
VMware ESXi ver. 6.5.0 installed on server.
Vcenter vSphere Web Client ver. 6.5.0.
Define on server a user and password for client login
VM machine running MCM9000.
Before starting the upgrading procedure, we highly recommend to export the XML configuration
On the mcm9000 go to System → Configuration file → Export

Push submit and wait until a successful massage will appear on the left bottom side.

After the Success message will be gone a new XML file will appear on the files list.
Push the “Disk icon” to save it to your local machine

Login
Type the IP address of the installed server and use the user credentials as defined.

Push “Ctrl + Alt + 2” to access the Hosts & Clusters list.
Push right click on the mcm9000 machine and choose “Shutdown Guest”.

Uploading MCM files to the VM Datastore
Unpack the MCM9000 VM RAR file to a local folder on your computer.

On the op right side press the “upload a file to the Datastore” and upload both files extracted from the RAR file.

** Please Note**
Do not modify the name of the files before or after uploading it to the Datastore
You might have to delete mcm9000.vmdk file in order the new one.
Push “Ctrl + Alt + 2” to access the Hosts & Clusters list
Right click on the machine → Power →Power On

The MCM9000 will boot with the new version.
