** Please Note**

  • Do not modify the name of the files before or after uploading it to the Datastore

  • Note that after uploading will be done you will see only “mcm9000.vmdk” on the datastore.

  • Chose Choose the Host you wish to use to deploy the machine.

  • Click the “create a new virtual machine” to start the process or right-click the server and choose “New Virtual Machine”.

Setting up the environment

  • CPU – chose the max CPU of the host.

  • Memory – chose the max Memory of the host.

  • Remove CD, DVD, Floppy drive.

  • Remove the Default Hard Drive.

Use the New Device option to add the MCM9000 VMDK by,

  • Clicking on New device → Select Existing Hard Drive.

There are TWO methods to obtain a license:

  1. Get the license from designated USB drive.

  2. Use License sharing to pull,

    1. The license from another machine in the same network

    2. From Amazon License cloud.

Method 1 - Using TAG USB Dongle

  • Type the IP address of the installed server and use the user credentials as defined.

  • Press “Ctrl + Alt + 2” to access the Hosts & Clusters list.

  • Right click on the mcm9000 machine and choose “Shutdown Guest” .

Uploading MCM files to the VM Datastore

  • Unpack the MCM9000 VM RAR file to a local folder on your computer.

  • On your vSphere Web GUI navigate to your Datastore by pressing “Ctrl + Alt + 4”.

  • On the top right side click on the “upload a file to the Datastore” and upload both files extracted from the RAR file.

The MCM9000 will boot with the new version.

Note: MCM9000 version 6.0.5, the system update will be performed through a GUI (‘software management’ section in the MCM GUI. and this after an update with the new VMDK in VSPHARE/ESXI). Anyone who uses a previous version will continue updating MCM versions through VSPHARE / ESXI.
