The Encoder configuration has four screens Content, Senders, Layouts, and Audio.
Content
The content tab consists of Source Configuration details. Based on the input stream the fields are updated.
...
Fields | Description |
Common | |
Label | Encoder name for the created mosaic. |
Device | MCM9000 device the encoder is started. |
Audio Agent | Select an Audio Alarm Agent for this encoder, configured in the notifications configurations. |
Show Alarms | When enabled, it displays alarms on the output mosaic. |
Display on Input Loss | Select the behavior on Input loss that needs to be displayed on the mosaic from the dropdown list (Icon, Dark Freeze + Icon, Freeze + Icon, or Freeze). For example, if the channel is down, the mosaic displays a Freeze + Icon. |
Audio Display Mode | Select the desired audio meter display standard (PPM or EBU). |
Video Format & Compression | |
Frame Rate | Frame rate reduction mode for low bandwidth transmission. Note: when the mosaic frame rate is reduced to less than standard, the layout cycle feature is disabled. |
Resolution | Specifies the output mosaic resolution for compressed sources; the chosen resolution should match the layout resolution. |
Interlacing | When enabled, it is interlaced. Else, progressive. *Relevant for compressed sources. For uncompressed, please choose from the dropdown in "SDI over IP format". |
Compression (MPEG2/H.264/H.265) | |
Deblocking | Deblocking toggle switch; relevant for H.264 only. |
Downscale 4K | When enabled, it downscales 4K resolution to 1080. For example, for a higher frame rate (e.g., 50fps) and 4K resolution (e.g., 3840x2160), one can choose to downscale 4K to 1080 resolution by checking this box. |
Downrate 50/60 fps | When enabled, it downrates the higher frame rate to half of the specified rate. For example, for a higher frame rate (e.g., 50fps) and 4K resolution (e.g., 3840x2160), one can choose to downrate the frame rate to 25fps by checking this box. |
Codec Type | Mosaic stream codec type for compressed sources. (Mpeg2, H.264, H.265 LQ, H.265 HQ, H.264 HQ). *Please refer to the appendix Output Stream Specifications for the supported types. |
GOP Size | Encoded stream max GOP size: 24 or 50. |
GOP Mode | Select the GOP size mode (Static or Dynamic). Static: Constant; configured GOP size is fixed. |
VBV Limit | Specify the value in Mbps or use auto settings (auto settings are highly recommended). |
Video Bitrate | Specify the encoded mosaic bitrate; range: 0.5 to 30 (in Mbps). |
Compression (JpegXS) | |
Video Bitrate | In automatic mode, 300Mbps for HD (60 frames) 150Mbps (25 and 30 frames) For UHD 600Mbps for lower bit rate and 1.2 Giga bit for high frame rate. Interlaced works only on 25fps. |
Packaging (Relevant for OTT/HLS streams) | |
MIN Chunk Length | Specifies the minimum chuck length (in sec) considering latency. |
Number of Chunks | Specifies the number of chunks in the playlist considering latency. |
Index Generation Interval | When checked, specify the duration (0-120 min) of the HLS output stream that can be saved on an external FTP server. |
Muxing (Relevant for TS ) | |
Program Number | The mosaic service ID. |
Transport Stream ID | TS ID for the PAT/SDT tables. |
PMT PID | Specify Program Mapping Table PID. |
Video PID | Specify video stream PID. |
...
Fields | Description |
---|---|
Enabled | When checked, it enables the main Zixi / SRT stream. |
Network | Network interface ID. |
Publish Url | Specify the NDI publish point URL. **The basic scanning URL is “ndi://” - this will detect all the NDI sources that are available to be received from the sender. You can also use “ndi://{{ip_address}}/” or “ndi://{{device_name}}/” |
Layouts
Layouts enable to choose the Layout type for encoder display. The Layouts that are configured under Layouts ConfigConfiguration are listed as shown below.
...
Fields | Description |
---|---|
Layout Cycle | |
Layout Cycle Interval | The output mosaic stream can cycle between multiple layouts (see Layouts). When enabled, specify the interval (in sec) to cycle between the selected Layouts under Available Layouts. |
Available Layouts | |
Label | Layout Name. |
Type | Layout Type. |
Resolution | Layout resolution. |
Enabled | When enabled, the Layout is active. If you enable and specify the Layout Cycle Interval, more than one active Layout can be enabled in a round-robin fashion. |
Audio
The Audio tab is used if the user wants to set an audio to the Output Encoder. To set audio output configure the below options.
