PTP Status

Network → PTP Status

The PTP Status shows all the PTP that is detected in the network. It has the below fields.

FieldsDescription

Device

The Device's (TAG server, instance, or a cloud) name.

Interface

It is the physical ID of the Interface (eth0, eth1, etc.).

Name

It is the Name of the logical Network, and it is unique for each interface.

Configured

If the PTP is configured under PTP, it is displayed with a symbol () and () if not configured.

Locked

Locked and not locked PTP is displayed with a symbol () and (), respectively.

Grandmaster

MAC address of the Grandmaster clock device.

Source

MAC address of the PTP Source device.

IP

PTP IP Address.

Domain

Domain number that ranges between 0 to 255.

Selected

Selected and not selected PTP is displayed with a symbol () and (), respectively.

Delay

Delay in the PTP clock.

Offset

Offset refers to the time difference between the master clock and the local machine's Clock, measured in microseconds (us).

Priority 1

For the best master clock selection, specify the Priority 1 value to override the default criteria (clock quality, clock class, etc.). Its value ranges from 0 to 255.

The default value is 128. Lower values take precedence.

Display the configuration of the PTP in the network.

Priority 2

If there are two devices with identical default criteria, the Priority 2 value is used for the best clock selection. Its value ranges from 0 to 255. The default value is 128.

Display the configuration of the PTP in the network.

Time Source

PTP uses a GPS time server.

Steps Removed

Steps Removed is the number of PTP clocks traversed from the grandmaster to the local slave clock.

UTC Offset

The UTC offset is the difference in hours and minutes from Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) for a particular place and date, measured in seconds.

Announce_Interval

PTP Announce Interval.

Last Announce

Last Announce specifies the date and time of the lastly announced message.

Class

Clock Class helps to find which Clock in a network with multiple clocks is the most accurate. It ranges from 0-255. The default class value is 248.

Accuracy

Accuracy specifics the precision between the clock and UTC, measured in nanoseconds (ns).

Variance

Variance is a log scaled statistic representing the jitter & wander of the clock oscillator.
