How to scan sources from Zixi sources
Please follow the steps below to scan sources from Zixi sources.
1. On Zixi GUI
Configure the output as Zixi Pull, as shown below,
Stream ID = Is the ID you will Scan on the MCM9000 side.
Remote ID = The MCM9000 and Zixi create the connection based on the serial number and the remote ID must be MCM9000_SNxxxx (xxxx = Serial Number).
The MCM Serial Number is displayed on the top of the MCM UI as shown below (In this example, the Remote ID is MCM9000_SN9990).
On MCM GUI
On the MCM9000 navigate to Sources → Scan, click on the add (+) button to choose the access type you need to scan. Select CTP as the access type.
In the IP Address/URL field enter the Zixi IP + Stream as following: zixi://<zixi_IP>/<Stream_ID> (for example: zixi://108.129.11.46/Bolliwood.ts) and click on submit.
Please note, if the Zixi sources are encrypted with passwords, the Zixi URL is of the format, zixi://<Password>@<zixi_IP>:<port>/<Stream_ID>
For example, zixi://Pp%aSsWwDd@108.129.11.46:2100/target_JMP_12345dx.ts
The valid special characters allowed for password/passphrase are _ % $ ! and &. Other special characters such as @, # etc., are not allowed.
2. Scan from Media Connect
If you would like to Scan from Media Connect, from the Source create Zixi Pull output and add the following:
Stream ID = Is the ID you will Scan on the MCM9000 side
Remote ID = The MCM9000 and Zixi create the connection based on the serial number and the remote ID must be MCM9000_SNxxxx (xxxx = Serial Number).
CIDR allow list = Add the MCM9000 Public IP’s you would like to scan
To Scan from the MCM use the Listener address as the Zixi IP : zixi://<Listener address>/<Stream_ID> (for example: zixi://108.129.19.138/Bolliwood_mx) and click on submit.
