Adhoc Monitoring Workflow (Resource Grouping)

MCS provides an enhanced Adhoc Monitoring Workflow through the Resource Grouping feature, allowing auto start and stop of channel monitoring when assigned to an active layout. Please follow the steps below to configure Adhoc Monitoring.

  1. Navigate to System → Devices, choose the device, and double-click or click on edit. In the editable Resource Groups field, create the group names (e.g., group1, group2) and click on save.
** Each MCM device can have one or more groups. In this example, the MCM9000-SN:9232 device has groups group1, and group2, as shown below.

2. Navigate to Sources → Sources Config, double click on the channel you need to assign the resource group. Enable the Adhoc Activation Group, specify the group name (in this example, group1), and click on save.

The channel (in this example 6945) is now assigned to group1.

Alternatively, you can select the channels you want to be monitored through resource groups, and choose the group from the list as shown below.

3. Navigate to Outputs → Layouts. Ensure that the channel (6945) is assigned in the Layout (test 789) as shown below.

4. Navigate to Outputs → Outputs Config, double click on the encoder and go to Layouts enable the Layout (test 789) and click on save.

5. Start the encoder (Enc1), now the channel (6945) is automatically monitored since it is assigned to the Adhoc group as shown below.

Configuring Groups for DNS

You can also assign groups to the DNS Configuration. Double click on the DNS Configuration and add the group name in the free text field and click on save.

The DNS configuration is assigned to group1 as shown below.
