Outputs Config
In this section, Outputs encoder configuration fields are described.
The Output Configuration enables to configure an encoder for Mosaic display of the streams and/or Penalty Box.
The Output Streams configuration GUI has the below fields.
Fields | Description |
Label | Name for the created encoder/mosaic. |
Device | Monitoring device name. Click on the Start/Stop button to start/stop encoder on the desired MCM device. |
IP Address | Output stream IP address configured under Stream Configuration. |
Port | Output stream port configured under Stream Configuration. |
Network | Output stream network interface configured under Stream Configuration. |
Click on the add icon to add a new encoder. You can copy or edit the existing encoder as well.
The Encoder configuration has four screens Content, Senders, Layouts, and Audio.
Content
The content tab consists of Source Configuration details. Based on the input stream the fields are updated.

Audio Agent | Select an Audio Alarm Agent for this encoder, configured in the notifications configurations. **MCS version 1.1 onwards please refer to Miscellaneous tab for Audio settings. |
Show Alarms | When enabled, it displays alarms on the output mosaic. **MCS version 1.1 onwards this field is under Miscellaneous tab for Audio settings. |
Display on Input Loss | Select the behavior on Input loss that needs to be displayed on the mosaic from the dropdown list (Icon, Dark Freeze + Icon, Freeze + Icon, or Freeze). For example, if the channel is down, the mosaic displays a Freeze + Icon. **MCS version 1.1 onwards this field is under Miscellaneous tab for Audio settings. |
Audio Display Mode | Select the desired audio meter display standard (PPM or EBU). **MCS version 1.1 onwards this field is under Miscellaneous tab for Audio settings. |
Video Format & Compression | |
Frame Rate | Frame rate reduction mode for low bandwidth transmission. Note: when the mosaic frame rate is reduced to less than standard, the layout cycle feature is disabled. |
Resolution | Specifies the output mosaic resolution for compressed sources; the chosen resolution should match the layout resolution. |
Interlacing | When enabled, it is interlaced. Else, progressive. *Relevant for compressed sources. For uncompressed, please choose from the dropdown in "SDI over IP format". |
Compression (MPEG2/H.264/H.265) | |
Deblocking | Deblocking toggle switch; relevant for H.264 only. |
Downscale 4K | When enabled, it downscales 4K resolution to 1080. For example, for a higher frame rate (e.g., 50fps) and 4K resolution (e.g., 3840x2160), one can choose to downscale 4K to 1080 resolution by checking this box. |
Downrate 50/60 fps | When enabled, it downrates the higher frame rate to half of the specified rate. For example, for a higher frame rate (e.g., 50fps) and 4K resolution (e.g., 3840x2160), one can choose to downrate the frame rate to 25fps by checking this box. |
Codec Type | Mosaic stream codec type for compressed sources. (Mpeg2, H.264, H.265 LQ, H.265 HQ, H.264 HQ). *Please refer to the appendix Output Stream Specifications for the supported types. |
H.265 Latency Mode | *MCS Version 1.1.3 onwards compitible with MCM9000 6.3.4 supports low latency mode. Low latency mode (Low, Regular, Ultra Low) is supported for SRT/Zixi. |
GOP Size | Encoded stream max GOP size: 24 or 50. |
GOP Mode | Select the GOP size mode (Static or Dynamic). Static: Constant; configured GOP size is fixed. |
VBV Limit | Specify the value in Mbps or use auto settings (auto settings are highly recommended). |
Video Bitrate | Specify the encoded mosaic bitrate; range: 0.5 to 30 (in Mbps). |
Compression (JpegXS) | |
Video Bitrate | In automatic mode, 300Mbps for HD (60 frames) 150Mbps (25 and 30 frames) For UHD 600Mbps for lower bit rate and 1.2 Giga bit for high frame rate. Interlaced works only on 25fps. |
Packaging (Relevant for OTT/HLS streams) | |
MIN Chunk Length | Specifies the minimum chuck length (in sec) considering latency. |
Number of Chunks | Specifies the number of chunks in the playlist considering latency. |
Index Generation Interval | When checked, specify the duration (0-120 min) of the HLS output stream that can be saved on an external FTP server. **From MCS 1.1.2 version compatible with MCM9000 version 6.3.3 onwards default "HLS Index" duration value is 1 min. |
Muxing (Relevant for TS ) | |
Program Number | The mosaic service ID. |
Transport Stream ID | TS ID for the PAT/SDT tables. |
PMT PID | Specify Program Mapping Table PID. |
Video PID | Specify video stream PID. |
Senders
The different types of available streams (MPEG-TS, Uncompressed, HLS, Zixi, and NDI) are configured in Senders screen.
MPEG-TS
The MPEG-TS is enabled for TS streams. It has a main stream and a back up stream.
Fields | Description |

Transport Mode | Transport protocol; options differ according to license type: TS/UDP, TS/RTP. |
NULL Padding | Null padding toggle switch. When disabled, the stream will not contain any NULL packets (PID 8191). |
TS Packets Per MTU | Specify the number of TS packets per IP Packet. |
MPEG-TS has a Main and Backup stream configuration with the below fields. | |
Enabled | When checked, it enables the MPEG-TS stream. |
Network | Network interface ID. |
IP Address | MC (multicast)/UC (unicast) IP address of the mosaic stream. |
Port | Port number of the mosaic stream. |
TTL | Time to live settings for network multicast. |
2110-20 and 2022-6
The 2110-20 and 2022-6 is enabled for uncompressed streams. 2110-20 and 2022-6 senders have the same configuration. It has a main stream and a back up stream.

The TR-08 and TR-07 is enabled for uncompressed TR-08 (JXS) and TR-07 (JXS) Linear codex types. TR-08 and TR-07 senders have the same configuration. It has a main stream and a back up stream.

CDI (2110) and CDI (TR-08)
The CDI (2110) and CDI (TR-08) is enabled for CDI (2110) uncompressed stream and CDI (TR-08 JXS) Linear codec type. CDI (2110) and CDI (TR-08) senders have the same configuration. It has a main stream and a back up stream.

HLS-TS
The HLS-TS is enabled for HLS-TS stream.

Publish Url | Specify the HLS (FTP, S3 or http) publish point URL for the HLS output stream to be saved. **MCS version 1.1.4 compitabile with MCM9000 Verion 6.3.10 onwards the HLS publish point URL can be specified in 3 modes,
The above is also applicable for FTP/HTTP/S3. |
Zixi / SRT
The Zixi / SRT is enabled for Zixi / SRT stream. You can toggle between Zixi and SRT. They have the same fields.

NDI
The NDI is enabled for NDI stream.

Network | Network interface ID. |
Publish Url | Specify the NDI publish point URL. **The basic scanning URL is “ndi://” - this will detect all the NDI sources that are available to be received from the sender. You can also use “ndi://{{ip_address}}/” or “ndi://{{device_name}}/” |
Layouts
Layouts enable to choose the Layout type for encoder display. The Layouts that are configured under Layouts Configuration are listed as shown below.

Layout Cycle Interval | The output mosaic stream can cycle between multiple layouts (see Layouts). When enabled, specify the interval (in sec) to cycle between the selected Layouts under Available Layouts. |

Enabled | When enabled, the Layout is active. If you enable and specify the Layout Cycle Interval, more than one active Layout can be enabled in a round-robin fashion. |
Audio
The Audio tab is used if the user wants to set an audio to the Output Encoder. To set audio output configure the below options.

Channel | Select the channel from the dropdown list. |
Input Index | Audio index in the range of 1 - 24. |
Input PID | Source audio PID. |
Mode | Select the mode as Transcodes or Passthrough. Please note that the Passthrough option is not applicable for bridged sources. For bridged sources, the audio will always be Transcoded even if the Passthrough setting is chosen. |
Output PID | Output PID. |
Once you have edited the configuration click on the save icon to save the changes.
Miscellaneous
To set used defined audio alarms, the Miscellaneous tab is available from MCS version 1.1 onwards, compatible with MCM9000 6.3 and 6.2.x version onwards. To configure please refer to https://tag.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/UPGRADES/pages/681771009.

Alarm Duration | Specifies the alarm duration (in seconds); if Permanent is checked, the alarm will be active as long as the event is active. |
Critical, Major, Minor, Warning, Notice, Info - All these severities have two options | |
Enable | Initally all the buttons are disabled. Click on enable to enable the Critical first and then the rest will be enabled. |
File | Select the audio file from the dropdown list. You can choose the default or the audio file uploaded to MCS through Management → MCM Files. |
You can use the filter option to Filter the event based on Label, IP, Device, Network.
There is also a column display that enable to hide/unhide columns. If you pin the column, you will not be able to hide the column.
