Clock status consists of the below fields and icons that are applicable for NTP and PTP synchronization:

Fields

Description

Clock Offset (sec)

Clock offset refers to the difference in time between external timing and time on a local machine. The lesser the offset, the more accurate is the lock of the local machine to the clock source.

The NTP/PTP Clock Status shows the selected NTP/PTP server's current clock offset (from the table below) from the locked reference clock.

Clock Drift (ppm)

Clock Drift shows the drift between the system and the NTP/PTP clocks (in ppm).

Time Since Last Sync

It is presented in seconds. The NTP/PTP module keeps time synced in case of small offsets. In case of a large offset (a few seconds), the Clock should be synced manually.

Icons

Description

When the system is synced with the NTP/PTP server, the offset is shown under Clock Offset, in seconds.

To perform manual synchronization, select the desired server from the NTP or PTP table, and click on the "Force Device Clock Synchronization" icon on the screen's right corner; this entails a soft reset of the system, updating the time of all event logs.

To refresh the Time Servers Settings GUI, click on the refresh icon.
