Requirements
VMware ESXi ver. 6.5.0 installed on server.
Vcenter vSphere Web Client ver. 6.5.0.
Define on server a user and password for client login
Login
Type the IP address of the installed server and use the user credentials as defined.
Uploading MCM files to the VM Datastore
Unpack the MCM9000 VM RAR file to a local folder on your computer.
On your vSphere Web GUI navigate to your Datastore by pressing “Ctrl + Alt + 4”
On the op right side press the “upload a file to the Datastore” and upload both files extracted from the RAR file.
** Please Note**
Do not modify the name of the files before or after uploading it to the Datastore
Note that after uploading will be done you will see only “mcm9000.vmdk” on the datastore.
Creating a new VM
Start the new VM process
On your VMware VSphere Web Client press “Ctrl + Alt + 2” to view the Hosts & Clusters list.
Chose the Host you wish to use to deploy the machine.
Click the “create a new virtual machine” to start the process Or, right-click the server and choose “New Virtual Machine”.
Setting up the environment
Choose “Create a new virtual machine” and press Next.
Give the VM a name, such as “MCM9000 SN#1234.
Choose the folder you wish the machine will be located and press Next.
Chose the ESXi host you wish to deploy the MCM and press Next.
Choose your datastore you wish to use and press Next.
Choose “Compatible with ESXi 6.5 and later”.
Choose the following:
➢ Guest OS Family: Linux
➢ Guest OS Version: Other 3.x Linux (64-bit)
Set the hardware customization as following:
CPU – chose the max CPU of the host.
Memory – chose the max Memory of the host.
Remove CD, DVD, Floppy drive.
Remove the Default Hard Drive.
Use the New Device option to add the MCM9000 VMDK by clicking on
New device → Select → Existing Hard Drive
