Sources → Configuration



Channel sources can be scanned automatically or configured manually or through API. In this section, you can configure the Sources manually. The different Sources available are SPTS, MPTS, HLS, RTMP, Uncompressed, MPEG-DASH, MSS, and CTP. The manual configuration of these sources varies from each other. Please choose the appropriate Source type that needs to be configured.

Additionally, the configuration toolbar has dropdown lists that can filter the channels available based on Device name, Source type, or Interface ID.

It also has a search bar that can filter the sources based on Name, IP/URL, Port, or Program Number.

FieldsDescription

Name

Display name of the channel source.

Access

Channel Source Type.

IP Address/URL

IP address or URL of the channel source.

Port

Source port number of the selected Source type.

Program Number

Service ID, as defined in the PAT table of the Multicast source

Network

Logical network name, as configured under Network.

Device

Monitoring device name.

Level

Monitoring levels (Full, Light, Extra Light).

Full Monitoring: One full license or the full amount of SD points will be consumed by the system, and full monitoring will be done.

Light Monitoring: A third of a license or a third of the SD points will be consumed, and the monitoring level will be for a third of the time.

Extra Light Monitoring: A fifth of a license or a fifth of the SD points will be consumed, and the monitoring level will be for a fifth of the time.monitoring mode where the input source is fully decoded and can be displayed in real time in a Tile of the Mosaic Output, while probed analyzed and alarmed for errors

In the Light and Extra Light modes, the system does full time monitoring and alarming on all aspect of the source including the Audio, and time intervals Video decoding and video monitoring, as in the current “Monitor Only Mode” (alarming continues to be full time).

Extra Light mode has longer intervals before decoding a full frame of Video compared with the Light mode.

The CPU resources for different monitoring modes are:

  • Full Monitoring = Regular Hardware usage (SD Points depending on the source)
  • Light Monitoring = 0.33 HW usage (SD Points)
  • Extra Light Monitoring = 0.2 HW usage (SD Points)

Monitor

Double click to enable/disable.
When enabled, the system starts monitoring the source according to the threshold set assigned to it. If the system is in a stack, you will be prompted to select the device from which you want the source to be scanned.

Record

Double click to enable/disable.
When enabled, the source can be recorded when the related event is active.

Thresholds

Channel monitoring thresholds set; clicking the magnifier displays the configured Threshold Sets for the respective channel source. To reconfigure the Thresholds, please refer to Thresholds.

Notifications

Channel monitoring notifications set; clicking the magnifier displays the configured Notification Sets for the respective channel source. To reconfigure the Notifications, please refer to Notifications.
