This feature simplifies group configuration by using a hierarchical tree structure. This means a user has access to any group that is a child of the group assigned to them.
With this feature, you can designate additional groups as children of the current group. This allows groups to inherit access from the configurations of other groups based on the following structure:A parent group can access all the features and settings configured for its child groups, as well as those specifically assigned to it but not accessible to the child groups. Essentially, the parent group inherits configurations from its child groups.
This approach lets you configure child groups first, and the parent group can automatically use the child group configurations, eliminating the need to duplicate configurations.
Example:
The Managers_Site_A group is a parent group of the Controllers_Site_A group. (This means the Controllers_Site_A group is configured as a child group of the Managers_Site_A group.)
The Controllers_Site_A group is assigned in the Group field for an output_1 in the Outputs Config but is not assigned to any sources.
The Managers_Site_A group is assigned to the Group field for certain sources.
By configuring the Controllers_Site_A group as a child of the Managers_Site_A group, the Managers_Site_A group automatically inherits access to the output_1 configuration without additional setup, while the Controllers_Site_A group does not inherit access to the sources assigned to the Managers_Site_A group.
Note:
Ensure that you do not create a cyclic relationship in the hierarchical tree.
Click Save to create the group.
