Smart Recording: How to Record Error Clip with MCM9000

This example demonstrates a setup to record 7 seconds before and after events of long black or black with logo on the air. (Make a copy of the “Default” Thresholds and Notification and modify.)

  1. In the channel settings, enable both Monitoring and Recording.

2. On the probe events, “Threshold Set” subset, enable Record the 2 desired events. In this example, set severity to Critical.

3. Set the Name, IP, Port, Network, User Name, and Password of the destination FTP server which receives the uploaded recordings.

4. Create a file agent for the destination FTP server to set the number of seconds to record before and after the event, in this example 7 seconds for each.

5. Add the File Agent in the File Column of the Notification Set for events with Critical Severity.

6. After applying these changes, when Probing Events reach the threshold: Manifests and Recordings will be uploaded to the FTP Destination Server. (See image below.) You can use VLC to play the clips by clicking on the Manifest File.
